About

Taylor and Steven began working together while volunteering at the Food and Care Coalition in Provo, UT in the Fall of 2012. Since then, they’ve had countless discussions trying to figure out what to do about the burgeoning homelessness problem in Utah and across the country. In an effort to understand the problem better and look for solutions, they decided to start the Outreach podcast.

Outreach aims to interview homeless people and gain their insights and perspectives about the problems they face. We’ll chat with them about family and social lives, crime, panhandling and other issues related to living on the streets. We’ll also reach out to politicians, law enforcement and the general public to hear their thoughts and concerns.

Our goal is to humanize those in our community who are so often overlooked. Instead of treating homeless people like a giant, homogenous group, we want each of them to be seen as an individual deserving of our respect and compassion. No one deserves to be homeless, and we hope this podcast can lead to shared solutions with shared success for our entire society.
